College days

I don't have many pictures from my time at Centennial College but here is one I took when I went back there to teach. This pic is of an ABB "pick and place" robot. We learned to program this machine to take a pencil and write our names on a piece of paper tied to a desk. This machine is often used in the automotive industry to for welding.

Classy

I know it may serve a need, but something about this was rather.. funny and sorta scary too. This truck trailer was sitting out behind a rest stop we found in Ohio.

Sunset (from Suzy)

I love the grey / colour mix here!

Wedding photos

The rest of the wedding photos that we choose to place online will be here. Suzy made that skyblog page so we had one location people could go to for the pics. Merci!

On the honeymoon #1, #1

At the deBoer's bed and breakfast in Niagara-on-the-lake, Ontario.

Honeymoon #1 was taken for 3 days after the wedding, #2 will be happening in January and February although we will have a bit of company with us then too!

This pic was taken while we were on the porch in front of ours and our neighbor's rooms.

2 more wedding shots

He absolutely insisted on wearing the bowtie. He picked that whole outfit out himself. Rather sharp hmm?

Skydome / Rogers Centre

The view from the SkyPod level of the CN Tower in Toronto! Suzy took her mother and I up here as a nice little gift away from the details of the last month or so. It was nice.

hrm

I remember when going through all of our pics from this trip, (Suzy and I) that these 3 pics stood out to me...

1. Bird had just taken off and flown over the street vendor.

2. I loved those houses. This one obviously had a theme and in taking the pic a bird posed for us almost perfectly!

3. And then there is this one. The bird is almost perfectly in line with and as still as the mosque. I love this one.

Riki Taxi!

Click the pic above and you will see what was to the right of this one. I never realized that the red "van/car" in the pic was a Riki Taxi though! Suzy and I took one of these from Table Mountain down into the city itself. When you cannot find a taxi-bus you can always call one of these cheap "backpacker priced" taxi's to take you and prob at max 3 other people. It was an adventuresome ride!

This photo is of the inside of the Taxi facing the back. As you can see the rear is simply a door held shut by one bolt, and you sit on small seats to the side of the vehicle.

Just a look inside peering forward. Click the pic to enlarge it!

Kelp forest (from the bottom)

This is the actual view of what we saw all the time above the water. (Like here) This pic was taken in the Two Oceans Aquarium, RSA.

We went

The "fiances" at The Old Mill, where we will be married in just over a month!

The pic was taken on my cellphone which doesn't work that well in low light conditions as you can tell. I still thought it was good enough to post... though terribly grainy.

I tried...

I never noticed how the letters were stuck onto the keyboard til I took an upclose picture of them.

This is, I suppose, a signature picture if there ever was on. At least for online initials...

Something in the way...

There is something nice about the way they just happened to be standing here.

Trench run?

Since moving I acquired an Xbox system with the game Knights of the Old Republic. So since my mind is in a Star Wars place...this is what the long hallway at my work reminded me of.

(Photo taken with a Nokia 6682 phone - will explain later)

Pictures and blogger

It's official. I cannot upload any pictures from either Firefox or IE at home nor IE at work. I click to upload, choose the picture and then as it is loading... it simply freezes.

This is why it has been so long without an update. Just letting everyone know my frustration!

K-ron

A pic from my sister Karen's concert from this past Sunday evening. She played about 6 songs at Holy Joe's in Toronto. I hope to be able to get some video up at some point from this show.

I love the lights above her, I think this is an awesome picture!

Dead Body

Suzy and Pascale were peering down among the rocks and called and waved me over. They said there was someone down there. I looked and saw the yellow slippers and some white rocks..that really did look for a second like a bloated stomach.

Ew? Yes, quite ew.

These bugs came from and were everywhere! Thankfully they pretty much stayed out of the sun. I believe they ate the decaying kelp tree stalks.

Obligatory #2

(see below or just read)

Help me!!!

I need to find a way to limit the number of "recent comments" in the sidebar.

Currently it shows..well a lot of them, and I would like to restrict this list to the most recent 5 - 10 comments.

I've done some searching but haven't been able to yet find a way to do this. I don't mind it listing the commenter and date but would also love to find a way to add the title of the post they commented on in the list.

Anyone out there able to lend some html assistance?

peaceful

Wednesday, February 01, 2006

Oh, windy day!

The guy who took this photo must have misunderstood me.. When I asked him if he could take a picture of us he quickly (and fearfully) reacted with, "No!" I finally convinced him that there was nothing weird here and we got this!

A change from RSA

This is a picture of me at work. I actually don't work in the warehouse anymore, I am dedicated to the maintenance of equipment for one customer group. Both on their electronic board (SMT) production line and supporting the maintenance of the back end equipment as well. When this picture was taken I was also helping out in our large automated warehouse. I was in the racking with my supervisor checking out some damage. (One of the heavy cranes hit a pallet - think wooden plate - that was sticking out and it caused the whole frame to bend in one place!)

Signpost

Classic tourist device, yet I found it exciting since the South Pole was so damned close! (in a sense) This sign is near the Lighthouse at Cape Point in South Africa.
